Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Every October, Mahaska Health hosts a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk around Oskaloosa City Square to bring awareness and show support to our community. The walk is held during lunch hours and everyone is welcome! Displayed are hundreds of pink flags, recognizing the number of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer in Iowa each year. The annual walk is hosted to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness and to honor those who have battled or are battling this diagnosis. In October, our Care Teams recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month and help remind everyone to get their screenings. Fighting cancer is 365-days a year. Our team is here for you each and every day – no matter what the day brings and no matter what you are going through.

We can help our community and save lives by ensuring all women have access to 3D Mammography, the most advanced and accurate screening technology. 3D mammograms are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurers, but for those who do not have health insurance, the 3D mammography fund is vital. Prevention and early detection of breast cancer is key and the best defense is an annual mammogram. Give the gift of hope today!

You can Save Lives

The Mahaska Health Community 3D Mammography Fund provides financial assistance through the Mahaska Health Foundation for patients who are not able to afford screenings or breast imaging services. Donations from caring people like you make it possible for more women to have access to the lifesaving care that they need and make a lasting, positive impact in the lives of people in our community.

To donate directly to the 3D Mammography Fund, please call today at 641-676-7420, or visit us online at mahaskahealth.org/donate-online
